How Does One Become a Member of Faith Baptist Church? PDF Print E-mail
The Constitution of Faith Baptist Church reads in part: "Any person professing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, giving evidence of regeneration and accepting the Statement of Faith and Covenant held by this church may, upon believer's immersion, be received into membership by majority vote of the congregation." In regard to believers who are or have been members of another church, our constitution instructs: "Members from other churches of same faith and order may be received by letter from their respective churches. Those applying for membership will meet with two Deacons (or men appointed by the Pastor or Deacons) to give testimony of faith prior to reception into membership."

As stated above, no one is received into membership of Faith Baptist Church without giving a testimony of personal salvation and Scriptural immersion. It is our practice to request a church letter from previous churches for two reasons: (1.) It is a courtesy to other churches enabling them to have accurate membership rolls. (2.) It gives the former church an opportunity to give a good report of those coming to serve with us.

Those desiring to unite with the church are asked to come forward at the invitation at the close of a regular service of the church. One of the pastors will be standing in front of the platform. He will select two counselors to hear your testimony of salvation and Scriptural baptism. You will be given a copy of the Articles of Faith and the Constitution of Faith Baptist Church.

All adults requesting membership are asked to affirm the following: "I have read the Articles of Faith and the Constitution of Faith Baptist Church. To the best of my knowledge, I am in sincere agreement with the doctrine and practice of the church."

After returning the completed affirmation form to the church office or directly to Pastor Marriott, he will be able to present you for membership at the close of the next Sunday morning service.
